Selfies are so awkward! But I broke down and took one today as part of the second annual Fashion Revolution campaign #whomademychlothes! Check it out on Insta @buyconscious. Fashion Revolution Day started to commemorate the disastrous collapse of the Rana Plaza garment factory complex in Dhaka, Bangladesh that killed 1,133 people and injured more than 2,500 on April 24th, 2013.
The mission of this global campaign is to shed a light on problems facing the fashion industry that led to this tragedy and encourage individuals to harness the power of fashion and social media to “inspire change and reconnect the broken links in the supply chain” as stated on the website FashionRevolution.Org.
Every April 24th, join the Fashion Revolution. Take a selfie showing your label, if you can, turn your clothes inside out like I did to make a statement. Tag the brand and ask #whomademyclothes? Get involved and lets inspire change together.
Check out the website for other ways to get involved any day of the year.
