It’s no wonder that David Silverstein chose Lauren Singer as model and muse for his most recent collection. She is “living her values,” embodying the zero-waste lifestyle, and writing about it on her blog “Trash is for Tossers.” Lauren’s website is a great resource for tips, tricks, and the trials of being trash free in the city. Her mission goes beyond fashion – she’s striving to be trash free in all aspects of her life. While I can’t see myself living a zero-waste life, Lauren is definitely an inspiration for small changes that I can make to greatly reduce the trash my household generates. Also, never thought much about my plastic ice cube trays until now…she’s good.

Lauren is walking the walk in her own life and wants to make it easier for the rest of us to live a little cleaner. So, she’s starting The Simply Co., a personal/home care company. Lauren’s first product is (handmade, organic, vegan) laundry detergent created from three ingredients: baking soda, washing soda, and castile soap. If you want to support her mission to create the most pure cleaning product company ever, head over to Kickstarter and pre-order a box of detergent. If you are feeling social, please share away!

And if you are searching for your very own zero-waste muse, check out Lauren’s Kickstarter video:
